It’s true I did quite a bit of dawdling this summer. I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to say that I could have finished the program by summer’s end if I’d kept my nose to the grindstone. But, be real: How long can I concentrate on one thing without diversions?
Longer than most people, maybe. But not long enough.
As long as the game is unfinished, there’s a shadow hanging over everything I do. I’m waiting for it to be done; I can’t let go and live life fully until it’s out of the way.
